CLOTH NAPPY FAQS

ABOUT CLOTH NAPPIES

It’s super easy.

We’ve created a free Wash Routine PDF guide that you can download and pop up in your laundry, or wherever you do your washing.

We’ve also created a free Fitting Your Nappies PDF guide that you can download.

Print it out and keep it near the change table, or share it with grandparents and other carers to ensure the perfect fit every time.

This depends on a few different factors such as:
- how often you do laundry;
- whether you have a dryer / where you live (as this will affect drying times)
- how quickly your little one goes through a nappy.

If you wash every other day and live in a warm environment (or use the dryer), then 36 nappies is a good starting point.

If you wash less frequently and in a colder climate, we would recommend getting at least 40-50 nappies to give you a good buffer.

Short answer: no. Longer answer: it depends on your baby’s output.

For light to moderate wetters, our Classic nappy with both inserts or our Ultimate nappy with the two large inserts is usually enough.

For heavy wetters, we recommend our Ultimate nappy with three to four inserts for maximum absorbency.

If your baby is still saturating every insert in the Ultimate nappy, then our Supreme Night nappy may be the solution. It combines a Fitted Cover with built-in absorbency and the inserts from the Ultimate nappy for extra overnight protection.

iT depends on your baby’s size at birth, their weight, and whether you want to start using cloth nappies from Day 1 or a little later.

Newborn nappies are much smaller than One-Size-Fits-Most (OSFM) styles like our Classic and Ultimate nappies, so they offer a better fit on smaller babies.

Our Newborn nappies are designed to fit from 2–8kg, which means they last longer than you might expect.

Newborn nappies are ideal if you:

  • Plan to use cloth nappies from Day 1 (or close to).
  • Prefer a trim, comfortable fit under clothing.
  • Expect your baby to be born early or with a smaller build.
  • Are likely to have more children and want to invest in nappies that will fit well from the start.

If you prefer to go straight into OSFM nappies, we recommend the Classic nappy. It has a smaller overall fit and will suit most babies earlier than the Ultimate nappy.

Great question. We’ve created a short quiz to help you work out which nappy is the best fit for your needs.

We’ve always aimed to create the most absorbent nappies possible.
